Jumpline constitutes a decent web hosting services, but with hosting packages starting at nearly $10 per month, it’s not one for entrepreneurs or small businesses on a tight budget. Although the web hosting service delivers good functionality and standard features, it doesn’t provide a lot of value for the money, and its hosting packages leave much to be desired.

The greatest weakness of this web hosting service is without question its hosting packages. None of the three offered packages provide unlimited hosting capabilities. In fact, even the premier plan caps the amount of storage space and monthly bandwidth. What’s worse is the service’s packages cost far more than most – if not all – of the other web hosting services in our lineup. The packages also have a limited number of MySQL databases and email addresses. Some users (namely business owners) may find the latter to be inconvenient because it limits the number of individuals or employees who can have a domain mailbox.

Jumpline’s features are also sorely lacking. The service has a control panel (a standard and necessary feature on all web hosting services) to manage your website but disappointingly does not provide a site builder, one-click app installs, or shopping carts, a necessity if you plan on selling merchandise on your website. It does, however, have all the standard features needed for web hosting, including more than one control panel to choose between and site statistics so you can see how much traffic your site is getting. Jumpline also provides an SSL certificate but surprisingly no shopping carts; the two go hand in hand when it comes to web hosting, as you need both for eCommerce websites. It also has integration with WordPress, so you can download WordPress site templates to use.

When it comes to ease of use, Jumpline is right on par with the majority of other web hosting services we reviewed. Given the technical nature of web hosting, there is typically a learning curve for most users. Jumpline is no exception. Unless you are familiar with web hosting services, it will take you a few minutes to learn your way around the service. But once you do, you should have no problem navigating the interface and accessing the various features.

Like most other aspects of Jumpline, help and support is likewise mediocre; the provided support options are useful but certainly nothing we haven’t seen before. You can contact the web hosting service directly for technical support 24/7 via email, toll-free telephone or live chat. You also have the option to open a support ticket on the service’s website.

Jumpline also provides resources for new users, including quick start guides and how-to tutorials. One thing we liked was in the support center you’ll find documentation on how to use both of Jumpline’s control panels.

Summary:

Jumpline provides good web hosting with decent features, but the rest of the service proves to be rather disappointing. Its lack of a site builder and bare-bones hosting packages are just a few of its biggest drawbacks and are likely to deter most prospective users.
